Montclair is one of only three subdivisions in eastern Prince William County with public bus service within the subdivision. The remaining commuting options are within 15 minutes of Montclair. Ease of travel from Montclair to all major National Capital Area work centers contributes added value to a Montclair home.

Commuter bus service to the Pentagon and Washington, DC operates within Montclair. There is a major ride sharing operation at the Route 234 and US1 VDOT Parking Lot with routes to the Pentagon and numerous DC locations. The VRE commuter rail station with service to Washington, DC is approximately 20 minutes - you can transfer to Metrorail at the Franconia-Springfield Station. I-95 is approximately 15 minutes. Leesylvania State Park provides boat launching on the Potomac River - it is about 20 minutes from Montclair. It has a fishing pier, picnic facilities and hiking trails. Prince William Forest Park is a 15,000 acre national park with 21 miles of bike and hiking trails, cabin camping and educational opportunities. The National Museum of the Marine Corps is about 15 minutes from Montclair. It depicts the history of the Corps from inception in galleries devoted to major conflicts. It also adds sections that reflect current events.

Churches, restaurants and other recreational venues are very convenient for Montclair residents.
